Yeti
The Yeti, or 'Abominable Snowman' is a tall ape-like ceature that is rumoured to be found in the Hamalayan Mountains, and has been sighted in both Nepal and China, aswell as by mountaineers and explorers around Mount Everest. It is described as being up to 10 feet in height, and as having feet that are twice the size of a man's. To the native people of Nepal, the Yeti is considered to be more of a Spiritual entity than a physical animal. Over the years a number of well known Mount Everest expeditions have returned reporting sightings of several such creatures, Colonel Howard-Bury and Major Alan Cameron both led expeditions that reported seeing the Yeti during their climbs in the 1920's. There have also been reports and photographs of alleged Yeti footprints that have been found over miles of open snow. It is believed that such footprints are the result of an effect known as freeze-thaw, where ordinary human prints are enlarged due to the constant melting and thawing caused by the rising and setting of the sun each day.
